Biography

Dr. Debjani Dutta is an Assistant Professor and Plant Physiologist with expertise in crop stress physiology, climate-resilient agriculture, and sustainable crop production. She earned her Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, India, where her research focused on mitigating terminal heat and drought stress in wheat through physiological interventions. Her work also encompasses heavy metal toxicity and stress adaptation mechanisms in crops, particularly groundnut.
Dr. Dutta is a University Gold Medallist and recipient of the UGC Senior Research Fellowship. She has authored numerous research papers, book chapters, and scholarly publications with internationally reputed publishers including Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, CRC Press, and MDPI. Her research contributions span plant stress physiology, abiotic stress management, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable crop improvement. She also serves as a reviewer for leading international journals and holds patented innovations in agricultural technologies. Through her research, teaching, and outreach activities, Dr. Dutta continues to contribute toward developing resilient agricultural systems capable of meeting the challenges of a changing climate.
